HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! ...

thank ya'll for the posts. it's always an encouragement to hear some feedback. well it's official. he won't let me have the donkeys back. fitness equipment think it's mostly HER input there than his. but again, maybe it's a blessing in disguise...feed & vet bills, etc., as was mentioned.

He & I are done. After speaking to him briefly last night, and she answered the phone, I realized I've been living in a fantasy, hanging on to the past. I can't get on with my life while crying about things I can't change. That's where the serenity prayer really comes in handy.

Billy, myself, my daughter, & her 2 boys are all driving down to billy's mom's for Thanksgiving. my son & his famaily are going to meet us there. I'm anxious to have all my kids together for pictures at one time. It will be wonderful having them all together at one time, for the first time ever since the grandkids were born. hope my nerves will hold up. plus i'm meeting a bunch more of bill's family for the first time. about 80 ppl are going to be there. talk about a bunch of rednecks! lol. it's going to be fun.

i rode mama horse bareback for a while around the farm this afternoon. shakota & jubilee ran around & after us bucking, kicking up their heels & having a grand ol' time while I rode. That's such a neat experience to me. i love being with my horses.

i've been straightening the house & doing laundry all afternoon. i took boomer, my dog, to mom's to stay while we're gone the next couple of days. then next week mom's coming here to stay again for a few days. that's getting a little old, but can't do anything about it.

i'm in a better mood. have taken my medicine like i'm supposed to today & feel better for doing so. i've gotta start being more vigilent with my meds. they're important to my own sanity.

i'm finally back online again. I know everyone must've thought i'd dropped off the earth. sorry. we moved my pc and it took forever to move the phoneline, then i had trouble trying to change dial up companies. moved from aol to verizon.

life's just been rockin on. ronnie's finally steel doors history. he's marrying a girl in her 30's. (i'll be 47 in march), who's got 10 more acres than me. I have a grave disdain for the man these days.

Billy and I are getting along well. Mom's staying with us for a few days again. they're moving back to TX from Wyoming.

I'm riding more than ever as the weather allows and we've planned two big trailrides for this year. We're really looking forward to it.

Home Depot or Lowes has wood fillers in tubes same toothpaste. If it�s discoloured you crapper intend object that is colered in most favourite colors. With the correct colouration a diminutive scew mess would be nearly invisable.

If you requirement to modify an oversized mess towood door locate a scew backwards in I�d reccomend a digit conception object much as mini-wax has. It�s rattling meet a discolour blackamoor bondo. Works great.

Guide to Installing a New Door

Replacing doors in your home can completely change the look and feel of a room, or make the exterior of your house much more attractive. A new door also often has a better seal which will prevent the heat escaping, and hopefully save you money on heating bills.

There are three main types of door:

- Entry Doors

- Interior doors

- Combination Storm/Screen Doors

In a second we're going to look at replacing an entry (external) door. To replace an interior door many of the steps are the same, just slightly simplified. The locks for example either won't be used, or will be much simpler. Replacing a combination storm/screen door is basically the same as an entry door, or it can be more complicated. You need to check with your manufacturer for any instructions.

Start by removing the old door

In order to do this you need to open the door and use a wedge to take the weight of the door (at the opposite side of the door jamb). When the door has been removed you should then keep it safe so that you can use it as a pattern to cut the new door.

When removing the door, there are two main options.

Many doors are hung using loose-pin hinges, these are where half of the pin attaches to the door and the other half attaches to the door frame. Both of the halves are joined together by using a pin. You can tap the pin out in order to remove the door.

In older homes the pin may of become stuck in, or a different type of hinge has been used. In this situation you could consider unscrewing the hinges instead and then remove the door.

Remove hinge leaves.

You then need to remove the hinges from the door and the frame. You can decide whether you want to reuse the same hinges or use new ones. If you decide to use the same hinges then you can clean them off using sandpaper.

Then install the new hinges to the doorframe. Make sure that you use long enough screws to get a secure fixing.

Cut the new door.

You should use the original door as a guide when cutting your new door where possible. If the door has warped then you should think about whether or not this is a good idea.

Use a fine toothed saw to trim the bottom of the door. You could also consider using a block plane to trim the bottom of a door. The sides can be trimmed using a jack plane.

Prepare new door for hinges.

The first thing you need to do is create the mortises which allow the hinges to fit flush with the surface of the door. You could also use Interior Doors the old door for the pattern to mark the locations of the hinge mortises.

Unlike the old days when door hinges were made of iron, brass or steel, today's hinges come in an array of materials and finishes. Thanks to modern manufacturing techniques, most of these finishes are maintenance free. Left alone, they won't tarnish, rust or fail over time.

What do begin to fail are the screws that hold the door hinges on the door and the frame. The stresses and strains of everyday openings begin to loosen the screws. This is particularly true on heavier doors that are either left open a lot or bear lots of traffic.

At least twice a year, you want to go through your entire home, inspecting all the door hinges. If you find an loose screws, simply tighten them with a screwdriver.

If the screws in the door hinges spin in their place and won't tighten into the wood, it means the holes are stripped. When this happens, do the following:

This is the source of creaks in your door hinges. If you don't have any WD-40 handy, you can use cooking oil in a pinch, but it won't keep the squeaks away for long.
